3pm is exactly busy moment during the day in the kitchen of SSEZ dinning hall. In order to provide a delicious meal, staffs are doing preparations on vegetables and cutlery. Near the sink is a beautiful girl wearing a flower hair rope, catching people’s eyes. She is Srijiem, a kitchen helper in the dinning hall since 2015. It seems that the past four years do not age her but turn her into a girl living better and working better, known to every staff who eat here.

Instead of Sihanouk province, Srijiem is from Kampong Chhnang province. The reason why she came all the way here is because her parents’ working experience at SSEZ. Being greening workers at SSEZ for a while, the couple noticed that salaries here are much higher than their hometown thus they decided to bring the whole family to work here together. Luckily, Srijiem and her brother found jobs in the dinning hall. Moreover, she even met her husband who works as an electrician here. For her, SSEZ is not only a platform offered good job opportunities but also a bridge connected her and her love.

According to Srijiem,  all of the family members working and living here gives her much pleasure. More importantly, they are enjoying higher salaries and their living standard has been improved a lot.  

In fact, there are many families like Srijiem’s in SSEZ. With the development of SSEZ, stories of staffs never end. More and more families join here, building futures with diligence.
