Until the end of 2013, the number of finished factories was 31 (180000 square meters) including 21 (123000 square meters) built by the SSEZ Company, accounting for 68% of total factory areas. And 10 built by the entered enterprises, being 57000 square meters accounting for 32%. In 2013, the SSEZ Company recommended the investors to rent lands instead of factories and the area of rented lands was 438000 square meters which is 2.8 times as that of last five years. This situation made a solid foundation for the construction and operation of factories on a large scale in 2014.

The number of investors signed contracts with SSEZ Company last year was 17 and 12 of them have provided with planning and designing projects to the SSEZ Company. The total building area is 170000 square meters, reaching the total building area of the last 5 years.

Nowadays, the dry season of Cambodia with lower temperature is the best time for construction. The enterprises grasp this period to increase the construction speed and phrase the production equipment, so that they could make the best cooperation between the construction of the factories and the arriving of the equipment. And the preparation for worker recruitment is staring as well. At the end of last year, the investors are busy in making some preparation about plan and design in order to catch up with the best construction time.
