“I do not have any experience of teaching Chinese in foreign countries. When informed of teaching Chinese to staff in the SSEZ Company and Cambodian workers, I felt excited and believed I will teach this module well. ”Teacher Zhou said when teaching “Basic Chinese” in training center in the SSEZ.
The fourth phase of training classes started in 20th November 2013 including three modules: “International Logistics”, “Basic Chinese”and “Basic Cambodian”. The “International Logistics” lasted for one month which focused on giving lectures about the key procedures of foreign trade logistics and the operation of exportation and importation through real cases and summaries. It made students understand the basic procedures and relevant operation requirements in a short time.
The features of this programmer was that the “Basic Chinese” and “Basic Cambodian” classes are arranged in and taught by Teacher Zhou Chun who is from Commercial Vocational and Technical College in WUXI. Teacher Zhou did a research on the teaching plan carefully and grasped three purposes including focusing on the phonics teaching, expanding the vocabularies of the students and strengthening the oral communication. A variety of methods were adopted to arouse the interests and enthusiasm of learner. During the class, Teacher Zhou built good relationship with students through emotion communication and asked some information about custom in Cambodia, the family situations and their daily lives. The atmosphere in class was active and gained good teaching effect.
The teacher of “Basic Cambodia” was WANDA who is an office staff of the SSEZ Company. He has been one of ten Cambodian students of university affiliated to Hodo Group. During more than two years, he studied really hard and communicated with Chinese people frequently. He felt excited to be a teacher this time. He made a good preparation on classes and the teaching effects were favorable, wining a good reputation from students in classes.
A Chinese employee said “We work and live in Cambodia and hope to learn some local language which many be more convenient for us to do management work and communicate with local workers. And it is very meaningful to master a kind of language as well.”
The manager of Logistics and Purchasing Department of the SSEZ Company ZA Sheng said: Even though he could speak certain simple local language, he did not receive any training systematically. The “Basic Cambodian” is launched this time which will benefit for his daily work. And he would learn it carefully and master more vocabularies.
With the number of entered enterprises increases, the learning demands of Chinese, English and Cambodian grow as well. The mangers from other countries need to learn Cambodian and English and the local workers in companies need to have more opportunities to learning Chinese. The employees showed their enthusiasm in language learning in these training classes. The leaders of the SSEZ Company required the language training becoming the permanent classes in training center. |
